Hey Clients & Friends of Clients,

It is that time of year to order photos for the perfect holiday gifts. We just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up about the last days to order prints and receive them in time for Christmas. The dates for this year will be:

All canvas prints must be ordered by December 8.

If you live outside of Knoxville, all prints must be ordered by December 8.

If you live in Knoxville, all prints must be ordered by December 11.

Good friends, bad blogger December 2, 2008

I got this message on Facebook from one of my favorite, hilarious, straight-to-the-point friends, Michelle, who also keeps up with our blog. That was 10 days ago… Let’s face it, I’m a bad blogger.

We have tons of photos we’re soooo excited to share, it’s just that there are always a zillion other (seemingly more important) things to do. We are also sooo excited for our new site to be completed that it almost seems like a waste of time to keep with this old clunker… But we’ll do better, we promise.

Thank you Michelle and everyone who keeps up with our little blog…….. We love sharing our latest work with everyone and are so thankful for all of our faithful readers

Baby Barnes! October 30, 2008

Between weddings, engagement shoots, and trips to Charlotte, Hilton Head and Pawley’s Island, this month has been CRAZY ( in a good way ). I’ve got so much to post, but I think I’ll start with my new pal Barnes. You might remember Emily and Jay – their engagement and wedding photos are all over our site. Well, they welcomed a brand new, cute as can be, has Jay’s eyes – baby boy- about a month ago. 

One note about newborn sessions in general: If possible, get the shots done within the first two weeks. They change so much and so fast. Also, I think it’s always desirable to have good photos of how they first looked. Plus, you can use them for birth announcements!

Blake Shelor – I love this little love muffin. This is the second time I have photographed Blake, once when he was 6 months old, now he’s 9 months. Normally I do almost everything outside, if possible but his momma and I started noticing that he was making a face, like a squint outside, even when it was kind of cloudy. We put him in his cute, cute room and got these shots, where he felt right at home. I love that little lip in the one on the right

Great weekend in BE! February 28, 2008

Last weekend I had blast in Banner Elk, NC with some of my favorite girls – (L to R) Tyler, Lindsey, me, Michelle, Emily, Erin, Ashley, Jenna and my new friend Meg – love you guys!! We spent the whole weekend talking about one of our favorite topics – pregnancy. No, I am not pregnant but Emily and Ashley are (YAY!) – and Erin, our resident expert on the subject, informed the girls (and the rest of us) exactly (in detail) everything they need to know. These girls are hilarious! We also took turns reading aloud from a book by Jenny McCarthy called Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth. So funny. But that’s not all we did…. We also had a shower for our friend Jenna who is getting married this spring! I am so excited about photographing this wedding b/c Jenna is a beautiful person inside and out and I can’t wait to tell the story of their wedding day. The story of his proposal – soo sweet. And the venue looks absolutely gorgeous! Check out their website – this place is not too far away for Knoxville brides who are looking to get out of town a bit. I am so exited about 2008 – it is going to be a great year! Since we moved back to Knoxville in July, we have had a great start to our businesses ( Watson-Studios and Dan Watson Photography) over the last 6 months. Thanks so much to all of our friends and family who have been clients or recommended new clients to us. Both of our businesses rely on referrals and literally every one of our friends have been such a great help in doing that for us. We truly have the best friends ever. Special thanks to Lindsay and Jana & Lisa – we couldn’t have made it the last 6 months w/o you, seriously. My buddy Noah – I’m his Aunt Nat Love it!!! He’s super cute and so, so scary this October with a snake around his neck! Do they all love Harry Potter or is it just an Oaks thing? One of the great things about being in Knoxville now is getting to see Eli, Emori, Noah and Abrahm whenever. For those of who don’t know Lindsay (which many of you do because she has referred so many clients to me) she’s the greatest friend and mom and my BFFE since we were as old as Noah. So it’s just really fun to be around more. I’ll have to post a pic of Linds when she was little next to Emori now – they look so alike!
